Welcome, My name is Jen! I used to be a former hoarder but let go of most of my STUFF to live the tiny house lifestyle! I had a custom tiny house on wheels built to become more of a minimalist, live more affordably and off grid..My dream was to buy land and build my own little homestead and I made it happen. Along for the ride are my cats Rocky, Whisper, Shadow & Charlie & my 21 chickens.

That is so boring😝
I'm cracking up!! 🤣 I just played this video from 5 years ago.. One of my first videos... and Yes absolutely boring, you are correct. So funny 😁 😂 Thank goodness, my videos have gotten much better!
Good stuff! Your chickens probably love the difference
Thanks! I think they love the difference. It's still really warm in there but it definitely helps! 😊🐔🥚
You're a worker!! Lots of progress👍🏼😊
Thank you!! Lots more to go but im up for the challenge! 😁😊
Jen, I am so proud of you because you were brave enough to follow your dreams and your property is coming along nicely. Keep up the good work 👍🏾.
Thank you very much, Linda!! 🥰♥️
Yum🍉
They love it! 😅🐔🥚♥️
Your entire homestead is so beautiful! Thank you for the tour. You did so much work on it, and all your hard work really shows. I'm amazed by the vision you had for your land and how much more beautiful it will be once everything planted grows and the remainder of the work is completed. I'm so happy for you that you have had many tiny house renters and other visitors to your homestead! 🥰😊 So sorry for your loss of Shelby. Rest in peace, sweet girl. 😇
Thank you kindly for saying all that. 😊♥️ It really is a lot of hard work, but i'm gonna keep pushing through until it'll gets done, and my vision comes together. I am so grateful that everything I have envisioned has come together so far. 🥰 And I only know its going to get much better! Manifesting dreams!! Thank you for your kind words about shelby. 🙏♥️
Hello, hard work but the homestead coming out very nicely; love to see the chickens so sorry for the one that passed away, can't wait for the flowers are on bloom, goingto look very pretty. Thank you for the video and take care🌻🐓🦋🐝
Thank you so much! Definitely hard work but its coming along. Thank goodness. It's sad when the chickens pass away. Especially when i dont know why they did. 😔💔🐔🥚
what's the size of this single wide ?
The size of my single wide mobile home is 15 x 52 feet making it 780 sq ft.
Can the salt get into the yard when it rains? I'd like to do this but I'd hate to kill my yard if it seeps into the ground
In my personal opinion and experience with this salt... It did not work. Right now my paths are filled with weeds. And this is all after the salt project. I've had a couple people tell me that when I mow the lawn, those weed seeds get into the gravel.... As well as when the gravel was delivered, there was weed seeds in the gravel to begin with. Now I am tempted to use some kind of stronger solution to kill the weeds, but like you, I am wondering if it's going to seep into the ground as the water flows down and get to my other plants. So I feel like I'm stuck again with all these weeds. And I don't know what to do.
@@TinyDreamer I saw something about a water, vinegar, salt, dishsoap solution
@alishaberrey4479 yesss, I saw that too...problem is, The time that I did it, it cost me so much money to buy several gallons of vinegar and it didn't even last long. So I just kept spending more money and more money, buying more vinegar. 😔
Hope she is feeling better❤
Thank you Kari! I'm really hoping, too! 😔🐔🥚
So pretty🌼🌸🐝
Thank you!!! 🥰✨️🌿🌱🪻🌷🌼
Too cute😻
Thank you! 😊🌿🌱🌿
Great video. What about dumping the urine collector? How is that done.
Thank you! The urine pipe is stubbed out the bottom of the house. You can divert it into sewer ir septic, a separate holding tank and then dump or create a ground filtration system using things like rocks and sand in a hole to filter it before it goes into the ground. Similar to a septic system and leech field.
You had it in a pretty tight spot there. The instructions tell you you need at least 4 inched all the way around for the cooler to basically ventilate. That might be your problem?
Interesting, I had no idea. I also had ventilation problems in the house so its very possible. I ended up getting rid of this water cooler shortly after this video and gor a berkey system.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience.
You are very welcome! Hope it helped!
You have a fan going?
Yes, a fan is also on them. It's cooled down since we had some rain but it's going right back up the next whole week.
I love this video!! It was so relaxing and enjoyable watching the chickens interact with each other and you. I could watch them all day. 😊 So glad I got to see Phoenix a few times, too. She is still my favorite -- can't get enough of her feather-covered feet!! So cute! 🐔🤗🥰
Yayyy! So glad you enjoyed the video! Is the girl's love when we hang oit. Especially when I have treats. Lol. Owning chickens has been such a joy for me. There will be times when I'm just sitting in the house doing nothing and I go out there several times a day to check on them and see how they are doing. 🥰🐔🥚
@@TinyDreamer You are such a kind, loving, and caring chicken-mama! So sweet to see your interactions with those very loved and well-cared-for hens. Don't know how you remember all their names and which one is which! hehe 🤪
@kimberpix4837 Haha, thank you!!! 😊 They are all different...each one looks different so that's how I remember their names...even the girls that are the same breed, all have some feature that's different from the others. I do have to find the feature in order to realize which one i'm addressing. -Phoenix and Emaline both have feathers on their feet but Phoenix has a floppier comb. -Lydia and cozette are the same but Lydia has a redder and straighter comb -Darcy and Zoey both the same but Darcy has smaller designs on her...plus I added 2 more...Sylvie is huge as a 14 week old chick... I actually thought she was a rooster. But isn't. And Tokyo, has different design too. -Hazel Is the head hen... She is a bigger ISA... But I added three more...Scarlet is mostly red, piper is mostly white back and Ginger has some cool design on her -Echo is gray and a prairie bluebell egger but I just brought in two olive eggers that are also gray.... Willow is a lighter grey and she has furry cheeks.... And Meadow looks similar to Echo but she's a lighter shade of gray. I do get echo and meadow mixed up at first glance. Lol. -Fiona is really light gray -jinx and karma are both black but jinx has feathers on her cheeks and karma doesnt..although 2 different breeds. The rest all look completely different...Josie, Gracie, lorelei 🤗🐔🥚
Love animals more than people☺️!!
Thank you! Excellent!
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed!
Interesting to see them in action. Looking forward to “Part 2” with new young chicks. Thank you for sharing with us. 🐓🐓🐓
Thank you for watching! This is part 2...I did a "hanging wirh the hens" video a while back. 🥰🐔🥚 Stay tuned for part 3 😁
Muy buen contenido
Gracias 😊
Nice to see the chickens, they are so cute, they are so talkative and you really know them very well. Thank you for the video 🐓🐥🌻🦋
Thank you!! 😊 Love my girls. Each one is so different and very talkative. I sometimes try to figure out what they're trying to say. Lol. Thanks for watching! 🤗❤️🏡🐔🥚
You speak fluent chicken.👍
Ahaha! Thanks!! I can see that. 😅🐔🥚
I feel them❗️ It is 104 here in Tucson, AZ = 96 degrees heat index‼️
Omgoodness!! That's hot!! 🥵
You're a fucking pansy if you had to use a rake. Just use your fucking hands, it's not a fucking cobra or viper. You ain't gonna die.
Hi im the first one to coment and like the video❤❤❤
it would’ve fit more had the song been black mamba instead of armageddon
omg new aespa lore
i love aespa
It's tricky cause, they won't only eat, meece, as we can see, here
So true...and I wonder, if he does keep the mice away...why is he still hungry for eggs.
Watching that snake climb upwards was actually terrifying. Never safe from the danger noodles
I never know if they are safe or not so it is pretty scary. When I find out they are helpful and harmless, I feel better. Lol
I am watching this with my buff Orpington trying to dust bathe on my lap 😂
😅😅😅🐔🥚
Did he ever eat the egg? I am all for relocating🐍
Yes, he ate the egg, left and today he was peeking his head in to try to get more. I covered the holes as much as I could so he couldn't get in. They always seem to find a way though, especially with this non traditional coop.
Wow, that was a lot of work!! It turned out really good, too. I also like the bloopers and am glad that you still do them. 😜😊
Thank you so much!! I love that you love the bloopers. Glad I put them in there! Lol 😅
Oh no, hope moves out of there😮
At first I was hesitant about leaving it in there, but I'm sure it catches the mice and it didn't seem to want the chicks or the chickens. Lower did it seem threatened by us. So I definitely won't kill it or anything, but I wouldn't know how to keep it from coming back. 😔
I haven’t heard idiga in about 45 years, since I was in college. Thanks for the fun refresher!
No problem!! Glad to know others know it out there! 😄
1:31 video starts
Poor baby/babies❣️ Hope she is feeling better soon, and nobody else catches it❣️❣️❣️
Thank you!! She seems to be doing slightly better than before..eating, drinking amd moving around more. A couple of the others also seem lethargic but they are all being treated so I'm hoping it just goes away. 3 more days of this medication in their water.
😢
Looks awesome!! and that is a big project😅!!
Thank you!! 🤗
I hope it doesn't spread and she's okay! We have chickens of our own and I will say, nothing like this yet
Lets be honest this wasnt in your recommendation. You intentionally searched for it.
Poor chickie
Hello, your garden is looking great, can't wait when it's in full bloom. Are you adding some kind of irrigation system or adding those containers that collect water that you can spray your plants with? Any way, it's looking very nice. Of all the other videos that I watch you are the only one that add bloopers at the end, funny😊, thank you for the video🌻🌼🪴🌾🌿🐤🐔
Hi Jen. Why not use other types for the door like pvc when you run out of wood fence posts? Just a suggestion.
@Leanne_Carter Hi! I didn't have pvc so I would have had to buy that too. The stakes I bought after the original stakes were $41 for 25. Which made double doors, another door and I might make another one. I did think about pvc though. Even looked in my workshop to see if I had spare. Nope. 😢
Thank you! 😊🥦🥬🥒🍋🍌🍍🥭🍎🍒🍓🫛 No I haven't added any drip irrigation, but I do plan on setting up 2 rain barrels to collect water from the gutters. Eventually, I just haven't set them up yet. So currently, I drag the two hundred foot hose over there and spend about an hour watering everything when it hasn't rained.
Thank you fir enjoying the bloopers! I'm actually glad that I do the bloopers and that i'm the only one that does them. I wasn't sure if anybody else did, but I thought why not add them. 😅
Good morning, where did you get the hoops I CA would really like my girls to have access to the backyard?
Hello! They are amazing tunnels and have lasted a couple years now. Your chickens will love them! I got the hoops on Amazon. I bought 6 sets of 12. INIFLM 12-Pack Greenhouse Support Hoops, Rust-Free 4ft Long Steel with Plastic Coated Hoops Garden Grow Tunnel Garden Support Hoops amzn.to/4bOjvEo
Overconsumption of salt can be toxic to chickens. Hope yours are okay after spreading it in their immediate vicinity?
The salt is nowhere near the chickens. The pathways are close by, but by the rain water washes the salt downward so it wouldn't even reach the chicken coop.
@@TinyDreamer Oh, I thought I heard you reference the chicken coop in your video when applying salt in that area. But good that they couldn't get to it 👍
Any similar information for Canada?
I have not researched the rules and regulations of buying land in canada. There's a lot that goes into the process of trying to find out if things are legal or not. So, i'm sure it's different in canada than it is in the united states.
This is great idea, Im going to try this, I will modify the wire at the bottom, the sharp wire and chicken feet= disaster.
Thanks!! Yes, Great idea. I also modified the bottom by putting another strip of chicken wire connected to the bottom piece and then landscape pin into the ground. No more wire!
I like your tiny home but for me 200 some square feet is way too small I'm okay living in an 800 square foot mobile home.
Tiny house living isn't for everyone! I love it 😀
What state are you in and did you need to pull a permit to install electricity?
I'm in TN and I didnt pull a permit but I think the people who installed it may have. We connected it to the existing electric but put it underground leading to the tiny house.
